SSC CHSL 2025 Eligibility Criteria

All the aspiring candidates who are dreaming of SSC CHSL jobs will have to abide by all the SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria as decided by the SSC Commission. The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age, physical standards, etc., and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the post(s) before applying. All the aspiring candidates of SSC CHSL 2025 have to abide by all the Eligibility Criteria decided by the Commission.

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

Educational Qualification (1/1/2026)

The educational qualification varies according to the post the candidate is applying for. The educational qualification according to the vacancy applied is as follows:

  1. For Data Entry Operator (DEO) / DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, and SSC: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard (Science stream) with Mathematics from a recognized board or an equivalent qualification.
  2. For LDC / JSA and DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (except the DEO posts mentioned above): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University.
  3. Candidates who are currently appearing in their 12th Standard or equivalent exam can also apply. However, they must have the required qualification by the cut-off date — 01 January 2026.

  1. The age of candidates must be between 18 to 27 years.

Number of Attempts

There is no limit to the number of attempts that a candidate can make in the SSC CHSL Exam. However, age limit is a factor that candidates have to be aware of. If anyone is out of the age limit, then they can not apply.

SSC CHSL 2025 Selection Process

SSC CHSL Selection Process consists of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test (for some posts), and the result is based on the result of all tiers.

  1. Candidates need to qualify for each tier to appear in the subsequent tier.
  2. The final selection list is prepared by shortlisting applicants based on their cumulative performance across the first two tiers.
  3. After qualifying both tiers, the candidates will be called for the Document Verification.
  4. Candidates will be allotted to the various departments for the posts of Data Entry Operators, Lower Divisional Clerk/JSA based on their merit and preference of post.
