Borrow          – means to take something from another person, knowing you will give it back to them.

For example – Could I borrow your pen for a minute, please?

Lend               – means to give something to another person expecting to get it back.

For example – I lent her 50,000 Rupees.

When you give something, you ‘Lend’ it; when you get or receive something, you ‘Borrow’ it.
