    The SSC CHSL (10+2) is a national-level competitive exam conducted every year by the SSC to recruit eligible candidates. Only 12th-level posts are filled through this exam, like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant (PA), Sorting Assistant (SA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO). Depending on the vacancy, posts may differ from year to year.

    SSC CHSL 2026 Eligibility Criteria

    The candidates are advised to go through the requirements of educational qualification, age, physical standards, etc., and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the post(s) before applying. All the aspiring candidates of SSC CHSL 2026 have to abide by all the Eligibility Criteria decided by the Commission.

    Nationality

    A candidate must be either:

    1. a citizen of India, or
    2. a subject of Nepal, or
    3. a subject of Bhutan, or
    4. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.

    Educational Qualification

    The educational qualification varies according to the post the candidate is applying for. The educational qualification according to the vacancy applied is as follows:

    1. For Data Entry Operator (DEO) / DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, and SSC: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard (Science stream) with Mathematics from a recognized board or an equivalent qualification.
    2. For LDC / JSA and DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (except the DEO posts mentioned above): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board or University.
    3. Candidates who are currently appearing in their 12th Standard or equivalent exam can also apply. However, they must have the required qualification by the cut-off date.

    Age Limit

    1. The age of candidates must be between 18 to 27 years.

    Number of Attempts

    There is no limit to the number of attempts that a candidate can make in the SSC CHSL Exam. However, age limit is a factor that candidates have to be aware of. If anyone is out of the age limit, then they can not apply.

    SSC CHSL 2026 Online Form

    The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the SSC CHSL Online Form in May 2026 on its official website at www.ssc.gov.in. Candidates will have to first make One Time Registration, and then proceed to the online application process. Candidates will have to upload their recent photograph and signature, fill out their personal information, and pay the application fee to complete the form.

    SSC CHSL 2026 Selection Process

    The Selection Process consists of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test (for some posts), and the result is based on the result of all tiers.

    1. Candidates need to qualify for each tier to appear in the subsequent tier.
    2. The final selection list is prepared by shortlisting applicants based on their cumulative performance across the first two tiers.
    3. After qualifying both tiers, the candidates will be called for the Document Verification.
    4. Candidates will be allotted to the various departments for the posts of Data Entry Operators, Lower Divisional Clerk/JSA based on their merit and preference of post.
