SSC CGL 2020 Notification

SSC has released SSC CGL 2019-20 notification on official website @ssc.nic.in. Staff Selection Commission has announced the date for the exam of Combined Graduate Level posts whose application form was released on 22 October 2019. The exam is going to be held in four stages i.e. Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3, and Tier-4. Any candidate to get selected for the post need to qualify each tier exam with minimum of cut-off marks. The SSC CGL tier-1 exam will be conducted from 2nd March 2020 to 11th March 2020. The SSC CGL tier-2 and tier-3 exam will be conducted from 22nd June 2020 to 25th June 2020 in two shifts. The exam date for computer proficiency test will be out soon. SSC CGL 2020 Online Application


SSC CGL 2020 application form has been released on the official website of Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Online application for SSC CGL Exam is between 22nd October to 25th November 2019. So all eligible and interested candidate can apply for the SSC CGL 2020 Examination through online mode before 25 November 2019. The Application Fee for SSC CGL is Rs. 100/- Although candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen category are exempted from paying the application fee. In addition to this, female candidates are also exempted from paying the application fee.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC CGL 2020:

Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen or can be subject to Bhutan or Nepal.

Age Limit: The age limit for the post will be counted as on 01 January 2020. Age criteria may vary for different posts. Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 32 years as set by the requirement of the job. There is an age relaxation of 5 years for ST/SC and 3 years for OBC candidates. The date of birth that is mentioned in the Matriculation (10th) certificate of the candidate applying or equivalent exam will be taken into consideration.

Educational Qualification for SSC CGL:: Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or college. In posts like Statistical Investigator Grade-II, the candidates should have completed his degree with some specific subjects.

SSC CGL 2020 Exam Pattern:

SSC CGL is a 4-tier exam i.e. the candidate must prepare with full dedication and requires sufficient patience to clear this exam. The candidate must be aware of the exam pattern followed by the SSC CGL examination so that the candidate can prepare in the right direction.

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam

It is a multiple-choice question paper which is both in English and Hindi language.
There is Negative Marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong attempt.

In the tier-2 paper, Paper-3 and 4 are for specific posts but Paper-I and Paper-II are compulsory for all the posts. There is a deduction of 0.50 mark for the wrong answers in Paper-I and 0.25 marks in Paper-II.

Candidates who have applied for Statistical Investigation have to appear in Paper-III and the Paper-IV is meant for the candidates who want to begin their career as Assistant Audit Officer.

SSC CGL Tier-3 Exam:

SSC CGL Tier-3 exam is a descriptive type of paper both in English and Hindi language in which the candidate is allotted with 60 minutes to write an essay/letter/precise/application etc. for 100 marks.

SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam:

SSC CGL Tier-4 exam is a computer proficiency test or Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) which is applicable for Tax Assistant post. Through this test, the assessment for the candidate’s typing speed is done.

Document Verification For SSC CGL 2020 Exam

All the candidates qualified for Document Verification are required to come for Document Verification. Those who fail to do so will not be considered for any post at the time of final selection. Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents like Matriculation Certificate, educational qualification, caste certificate, relevant document, if any relaxation is taken, etc. Candidates will be required to produce all documents in original for verification at the time of document verification.
