Correct option is A
Devapala, the third ruler of the Pala Dynasty, is renowned for his support of Buddhism and its institutions. He was approached by Balaputradeva, the ruler of the Srivijaya empire (Sumatra), who was a devout Buddhist. In response to Balaputradeva's request, Devapala granted five villages to support the Nalanda Mahavihara, one of the most important Buddhist monastic universities in ancient India.
This episode is recorded in a copperplate inscription discovered at Nalanda. It is an exceptional example of early transnational religious diplomacy and cultural exchange between India and Southeast Asia.
