• 1. Excessive heat and high humidity that prevails in equatorial types of climate severely impact on physical and mental health of humans. 

• 2. Prevalence of bacteria and insect pests: The hot and wet climate favours rapid plant growth and also encourages spread of insects and pests. Hence, it spreads diseases in both man and animal.

• 3. Luxuriant forest growth and thick under growth of plants and swamps hinder the development like rail and road networks. Therefore rivers form the only natural highways.
