Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri has inaugurated Asia’s largest Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant in Lehragaga, in Sangrur, Punjab.
 The 20-acre facility was commissioned with a Foreign Direct Investment of about Rs. 220 crores.
 The plant currently produces approximately 6 tons of Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) per day.
 CBG is a CO2-neutral fuel made from fermented waste or other biological material, and it has similar calorific value and properties as CNG.
 This renewable automotive fuel can replace CNG in the future.
 It can also reduce stubble burning in nearby rural areas.
