Question

This question is based on the five, three-digit numbers given below.
(Left) 951 474 717 497 127 (Right)
(Example- 697 – First digit = 6, second digit = 9 and third digit = 7)
(NOTE: All operations to be done from left to right.)
What will be the resultant if the first digit of the highest number is subtracted from the third digit of the lowest number?

A.

−4

B.

−3

C.

−2

D.

−1

Correct option is C

Given: (Left) 951 474 717 497 127 (Right)
Highest number = 951
Lowest number = 127
First digit of the highest number (951) = 9
Third digit of the lowest number (127) = 7
The first digit of the highest number is subtracted from the third digit of the lowest number.
= 7 - 9
= - 2
So, - 2 will be the resultant if the first digit of the highest number is subtracted from the third digit of the lowest number.
Thus, correct option is (c).
