Question

The two identical bags and two identical boxes are placed as shown. The top of the table is at the height of

A.

65 cm

B.

70 cm

C.

75 cm

D.

80 cm

Correct option is C

Given:
· On the left side, the bag is placed on a box, and the total height up to the tabletop is 88 cm.
· On the right side, the same bag is placed directly on the ground, and its top is at 62 cm.
· The difference in height is due to the height of the box.
Solution:
Let height of the table be T,
height of the bag be b,
height of the Box be B.
Given in the left figure, height between the top of bag and top of box is 88 cm.
We can write T + b - B = 88    ...(1)
Given in the left figure, height between the top of bag and top of box is 62 cm.
We can write T + B - b = 62    ...(2)
Adding equation (1) and equation(2), we get:
2T = 88 + 62
⇒ 2T = 150
⇒ T = 75 cm.
Top of the table is at the height of 75 cm.
