Question

The internal radius of a metallic pipe is 2cm and its external radius is 2.7cm.If the length of pipe is 10cm , then find the volume of metal used for this pipe (π=227)\left(\pi = \frac{22}{7} \right)

A.

B.

C.

93.4 cm393.4 \ cm^3

D.

103.4 cm3103.4 \ cm^3

Correct option is D

Given:

Internal radius of pipe =2cm

External radius of pipe =2.7cm

Length of pipe = 10cm

Formula Used:

Volume of hollow cylinder = π((r1)2(r2)2)h \pi ((r_1)^2 -(r_2)^2) h

Wherer1,r2 r_1,r_2 and h are external radius, internal radius and height of cylinder

Solution:

Volume of metal =π((2.7)2(2)2)×10 \pi ((2.7)^2 -(2)^2) \times 10

=227×(3.29)×10 = \frac{22}{7} \times (3.29) \times 10

=103.4cm2= 103.4cm^2
