A.

5

B.

2

C.

D.

4

Correct option is B

Given:

Histogram shows average percentage score of boys and girls in an examination during the years 2014-2018.

Solution:

Scores for each year

Boys: 65 (2014), 80 (2015), 80 (2016), 65 (2017), 60 (2018)

Girls: 60 (2014), 65 (2015), 75 (2016), 80 (2017), 80 (2018)

Overall average score for boys and girls

For Boys:

Average for Boys = 65+80+80+65+605=3505=70\frac{65+80+80+65+60}{5} = \frac{350}{5} = 70

For Girls:

Average for Girls: =  60+65+75+80+805\frac{60+65+75+80+80}{5}  = 3605\frac{360}{5} = 72

Absolute Difference = 72 - 70 = 2

The absolute difference between the overall average score of boys and girls is 2

Thus, correct answer is (b) 2
