    What will the difference be, of the average points scored by C and D?

    A.

    6.5

    B.

    1.5

    C.

    10.5

    D.

    8.5

    Correct option is B

    Formula Used:

    Average=Sum of points scoredTotal number of games\text{Average} = \frac{\text{Sum of points scored}}{\text{Total number of games}}

    Solution:

    the average points for Player C,

    8 + 11 + 4 + 3 = 26

    Average = 264\frac{26}{4} = 6.5

    the average points for Player D,

    10 + 12 + 2 + 8 = 32

    Average = 324\frac{32}{4} = 8

    Difference of average = 8 − 6.5 = 1.5

    So, 1.5 of the average points scored by C and D.

    Thus, the correct answer is (b).
