What is the ratio of 'the sum of the marks scored by A in Mathematics and Hindi' to 'the sum of the marks scored by C in Science and Hindi'?

A.

5:3

B.

1:2

C.

9:7

D.

8:9

Correct option is C

Given:

Marks scored by A:

Mathematics: 94   Hindi: 86

Marks scored by C:

Science: 66   Hindi: 74

Solution:

Marks scored by A (Mathematics + Hindi): 94 + 86 = 180

Marks scored by C (Science + Hindi): 66 + 74 = 140

Now, the ratio of these two sums is:

Ratio of the sums=Sum for ASum for C=180140=97\text{Ratio of the sums} = \frac{\text{Sum for A}}{\text{Sum for C}} = \frac{180}{140} = \frac{9}{7}

So, the ratio is 9:79:79:7.
