What is the difference between the aggregate percentage marks of A and B?

A.

1%

B.

4%

C.

2%

D.

5%

Correct option is D

Formula Used:

Percentage=PartWhole×100\text{Percentage} = \frac{\text{Part}}{\text{Whole}} \times 100

Solution:

Aggregate Percentage for Student A:

Total marks obtained by A = 42 + 45 + 40 + 33 = 160

Total maximum marks for A = 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 = 200

Aggregate percentage of A = 160200×100\frac{160}{200} \times100 = 80%

2. Percentage for Student B:

Total marks obtained by B = 35 + 33 + 40 + 42 = 150

Total maximum marks for B = 50 + 50 + 50 + 50 = 200

Aggregate percentage of B = 150200×100\frac{150}{200} \times100 = 75%

the difference in aggregate percentages:

Difference = Aggregate percentage of A - Aggregate percentage of B

Difference = 80% - 75% = 5%

Therefore, the difference between the aggregate percentage marks of A and B is 5%.

Thus, correct answer is option (D).
