Percentage marks of boys = 80, 80, 40, 90, 70, 70 

Percentage marks of girls = 60, 70, 60, 60, 80,  60 

Formula Used: 

Average = Sum of termsNumber of terms\frac{Sum \ of \ terms}{Number \ of \ terms}  

Solution: 

Average % marks of boys = 80+80+40+90+70+70671.67\frac{80 +80+ 40+ 90+ 70+ 70}{6} \approx 71.67 

​Average % marks of  girls =  60+70+60+60+80+606=65\frac{60+ 70+ 60+ 60+80 + 60}{6} = 65 

Difference = 71.67 - 65 = 6.67
