Formula Used:
Average =  (Sum of observations)(no. of observations)\frac{(Sum \ of \ observations)}{(no. \ of \ observations)}​​
Solution:
Number of girls in each section =34+41+40+39+45+41=240
Average =  (Sum of observations)(no. of observations)=2406=40\frac{(Sum \ of \ observations)}{(no. \ of \ observations)} = \frac{240}{6} =40​​
