Question

Study the given bar chart carefully and answer the question that follows.
The absolute difference between the annual sales in year 4 and the average sales for six years is the same as the absolute difference between the annual sales in another year and the average sales for six years. Identify the year.

A.

Year 2

B.

Year 4

C.

Year 1

D.

Year 3

Correct option is C

Given: we have sales numbers in all 6 years.
Solution:
the annual sales in year 4 = 45
the average sales for six years = (40+50+35+45+55+30)/6 = 255/6 = 42.5
let the annual sales in another year = x
(A.T.Q)
45 – 42.5 = 42.5 – x
x = 95 – 45 = 40
final answer (c) 1.
