 Muhammad bin Tughlaq introduced a copper coin called Jittal in place of the silver coin.
 Muhammad bin Tughluq (1290 – 20 March 1351) was the Sultan of Delhi from 1325 to 1351.
 He was the eldest son of Ghiyas-Ud-Din-Tughlaq, the founder of the Tughluq dynasty.
 He transferred the capital from Delhi to Deogir, renaming it Daulatabad
 Muhammad Bin Tughlaq issued token money in 1330, after his unsuccessful expedition to Deogiri; that is, coins of brass and copper were minted whose worth was equivalent to that of coins of gold and silver.
 He instituted the "Diwan-i-Kohi," a new agricultural department and also Implemented agricultural loans known as "Takavi" to support farmers.
