Question

In a queue, Rahul is 21st from the front end and Ankit is 10th from the rear end, and there are 4 people between them. How many people are there in the queue if Ankit is standing somewhere behind Rahul in the queen?

A.

36

B.

38

C.

35

D.

37

Correct option is C

Let the total number of people in the queue be N.
Given,
Rahul is 21st from the front.
Ankit is 10th from the rear.
There are 4 people between them.
So, the position of Ankit from the front =N−10+1=N−9
4 people between Rahul and Ankit. This means the difference in their positions is 5.
The difference in their positions = 5
(N−9)−21 = 5
N-30=5
N=30+5=35
Thus, correct option is (c).
