    Question

    If the distance between A and B is 1409 Km. From A, Vishal goes to B with speed 71 km/h and return to A with the speed 39 km/h. Find the average speed of Vishal.(rounded off to two decimal place)

    A.

    40.32 km/h

    B.

    50.35 km/h

    C.

    44.05 km/h

    D.

    50.73 km/h

    Correct option is B

    Given:

    Distance between A and B = 1409 km

    Speed from A to B = 71 km/h

    Speed from B to A = 39 km/h

    Formula Used::

    Average speed = Total distanceTotal time\frac{Total \ distance }{Total \ time}

    Average Speed= 2×s1×s2s1+s2\frac{{2 \times s_1 \times s_2 }}{{s_1 +s_2}}

    Solution:

    Average Speed = 2×71×3971+39\frac{ 2 \times 71 \times 39 }{71 +39}  = 5538110=50.34\frac{5538}{110} = 50.345 km/h
