    Question

If 'p' means '×', 'q' means '-', 'r' means '÷' and 's' means '+', then which of the following equation is NOT correct?
    I. 44 s 51 r 17 q 20 p 4 = -31
    II. 57 r 19 s 5 p 10 q 18 = 35

    A.

    Neither I nor II

    B.

    Only II

    C.

    Both I and II

    D.

    Only I

    Correct option is D

    I. 44 s 51 r 17 q 20p 4= -31

    Putting given values: New equation
    44 + 51 ÷ 17 - 20 × 4 = -31
    44 + 3 - 20 × 4= -31
    44 + 3 - 80 = -31
    47 - 80= -31
    -33 = -31 (Not follows)
    II. 57 r 19 s 5 p 10q18 = 35
    Putting given values: New equation
    57 ÷ 19 + 5 × 10 - 18 = 35
    3 + 5 × 10 - 18 = 35
    3 + 50 - 18 = 35
    53 - 18 = 35
    35 = 35 (Follows)
So, only II is not correct.
    Thus, correct option is (d).
