Question

If angles A,B,C and D of a quadrilateral ABCD, taken in order, are in the ratio 3:7:6:4, then ABCD is a:

A.

rhombus

B.

kite

C.

trapezium

D.

parallelogram

Correct option is C

Given:

Angles of a quadrilateral are in ratio = 3:7:6:4 respectively

Formula Used:

Sum of angles of a quadrilateral = 360o360^o

Solution:

Let the angles be 3x,7x,6x and 4x respectively

Then 3x+7x+6x+4x = 360

20x=360o20x=360^o

x=18o^o

Angles are:

A=3x = 54o^o

B=7x =126o^o

C=6x =108o^o

D=4x=72o^o

A+B = 54o+126o=180o54^o+ 126^o = 180^o

C+D =108o+72o=180o108^o + 72^o = 180^o

In  kites, rhombus and parallelogram opposite angles are equal

Hence it is a trapezium
