Correct option is A
Ans. (a)
Jagmal Singh, the half-brother of Maharana Pratap, was the son of Maharana Udai Singh II and Rani Dheerbai Bhatiyani. Upon Udai Singh II’s death, Jagmal was initially declared the successor due to his mother’s influence, but the Rajput nobles rejected his claim and instead crowned Maharana Pratap as the ruler of Mewar in 1572.
Angered by this, Jagmal left Mewar and joined Mughal Emperor Akbar, who granted him the jagir of Jahajpur in return for his allegiance. He later served under Mughal general Asaf Khan.
