    Correct option is A

    Given:

The distribution of marks obtained by 2 different set of 100 students who appeared for exams in Mathematics and statistics respectively

    Solution:

The cumulative frequency is shown in the data.

Number of students scoring above 40% in Mathematics = 70

    Number of students scoring less than 40% in Mathematics = 100 -70 = 30

Number of students scoring more than 40% in Statistics = 64

Number of students scoring less than 40% in Statistics =100 -64 = 36

    Total number of students scoring less than 40% in both subjects = 30 + 36 = 66
