Equation I: 16 $$\times$$ 9 + 2 $$\div$$ 3 - 5 = 17

New equation: 16 + 9 $$\times$$​ 2 $$\div$$​ 3 - 5 = 17

16 + 6 - 5 = 17

16 +1 = 17

17 =17

Equation II: 43 $$\times$$ 11 - 44 $$\div$$ 11 + 11 = 10

New equation: 43 + 11 - 44 $$\div$$​ 11 $$\times$$​ 11 = 10

43 + 11 - 4 $$\times$$ 11 = 10

43 + 11 - 44 = 10

54 - 44 = 10

So, Both I and II is true.

Thus, correct option is (a).
