The battle of Kovilakonda is one of the significant events during the reign of Krishnadeva Raya, the greatest ruler of the Vijayanagar Empire. The Battle of Kovilkonda was a major engagement in 1510 during Krishnadevaraya's expedition against the Bahmani and Bijapuri forces. Krishnadevaraya, ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire, decisively defeated the combined armies of the Sultanate of Bijapur, led by Yusuf Adil Khan, and the Bahmani Sultanate. The battle resulted in Yusuf Adil Khan's death and the capture of the strategic Kovilkonda city, solidifying Krishnadevaraya's victory.
