B.

7

C.

4

D.

5

Correct option is A

Given:

The vendor buys lemons at 6 for ₹1.

The vendor wants to gain 100% profit.

Formula Used:

S.P. = C.P. × (1+Profit Percentage100) \left(1+\frac{\text{Profit Percentage}}{100}\right)

Solution:

Cost Price (C.P.) of 1 lemon = ₹ 16\frac{1}{6} per lemon

Selling Price (S.P.) for a 100% profit:

S.P. = 16×2=13\frac{1}{6} \times 2 = \frac{1}{3}  per lemon

Number of lemons to sell for ₹1 = 113=3\frac{1}{\frac 13} =3
