Given:

First speed = 81 km/h

First distance = 405 km

Second speed = 88 km/h

Second distance = 176 km

Formula Used:

Average Speed = Total DistanceTotal Time Taken\frac{\text{Total Distance}}{\text{Total Time Taken}}​​

Solution:

Total Distance = 405 + 176= 581 km

Time for First Part = 40581\frac{405}{81}​ = 5 hours

Time for Second Part = 17688\frac{176}{88}​ = 2 hours

Total Time = 5 + 2 = 7 hours

Average Speed = 5817\frac{581}{7}​ = 83 km/h
