Question

A right rectangular box’s measurement are 1.6 m long, 90 cm wide, 60 cm in height. Soap cakes of measurement 6 cm × 5 cm × 40 mm are to be packed in the box, so that no space is left. How many cakes can be packed in the box?

A.

6000

B.

5600

C.

6500

D.

7200

Correct option is D

Given:
Dimensions of the box:
Length = 1.6 m = 160 cm
Width  = 90 cm
Height = 60 cm
Dimensions of each soap cake:
Length = 6 cm
Width = 5 cm
Height = 40 mm = 4 cm
Formula Used:
Volume of a rectangular box = Length × Width × Height
Number of cakes = Volume of the boxVolume of one soap cake\frac{\text{Volume of the box}}{\text{Volume of one soap cake}}
Solution:
Number of cakes = 160×90×606×5×4\frac{160×90×60}{6×5×4} = 80 × 90 = 7,200
Thus, A total of 7,200 soap cakes can be packed in the box.
