Question

A natural number is added to 250 and the same number is subtracted from 250. The sum of the two resulting numbers so obtained is

A.

250

B.

360

C.

500

D.

400

Correct option is C

Given
A natural number is added to 250.
The same natural number is subtracted from 250.

Formula Used
Sum = (a + x) + (a - x) = 2a

Solution
Let the natural number be x.

First resulting number = 250 + x

Second resulting number = 250 - x

Sum of the two resulting numbers = (250 + x) + (250 - x)

Sum = 250 + x + 250 - x

Sum = 500

So the correct answer is (c)
