Question

A labour gets Rs. 4800 for 16 days’ work. How many days should he work to get Rs.8400?

A.

25 days

B.

28 days

C.

30 days

D.

32 days

Correct option is B

Given:

A labour gets Rs. 4800 for 16 days of work.

Formula Used:

Payment for 16 daysNumber of days=Payment for x daysNumber of days x\frac{\text{Payment for 16 days}}{\text{Number of days}} = \frac{\text{Payment for \( x \) days}}{\text{Number of days \( x \)}}

Solution:

Let the number of days he should work to get Rs. 8400 be x.

480016=8400x\frac{4800}{16} = \frac{8400}{x}

300=8400x300 = \frac{8400}{x}

x = 8400300=28 \frac{8400}{300} = 28

So, the labour should work 28 days to get Rs. 8400.

Thus, the correct option is (b) 28
