A boy has a total of Rs. 60 which is a sum of one rupee, 50 paise, and 25 paise coins in the ratio of 5:6:8
Let, a number of 1 rupee coins be 5x, a number of 50 paise coins be 6x and that of 25 paise coins be 8x.
Then, according to question:
1 x 5x + 0.50 x 6x + 0.25 x 8x = 60
→ 5x + 3x + 2x = 60
x=60/ 10
6=x
Therefore, the number of 25 paise coins is = 8x = 8 × 6 = 48.
Hence, '48' is the correct answer.
