Given:

8 men can complete the work in 8 days

8 women can complete the work in 12 days

Formula Used:

Total Work = Number × Days × Efficiency

Solution:

Let the efficiency of 1 man = M, and 1 woman = W 

Now, 

8 × 8 × M = 8 × 12 × W

64M = 96W

MW=9664=32\frac{M}{W} = \frac{96}{64} = \frac{3}{2} 

Now, 

8 × 8 × M = D × (2W + 4M) 

64 × 3 = D × ( 2×2 + 4 × 3)

64 × 3 = D × (16)

D = 64×316=12 days\frac{64 \times 3}{16} = 12 \ days​​

Thus, 2 women and 4 men can complete the work in 12 days
