RRB Group D – CBT Exam Pattern

Total Questions: 100
Duration: 90 minutes
Subjects:
Mathematics – 25 Questions
General Intelligence & Reasoning – 30 Questions
General Science – 25 Questions
General Awareness & Current Affairs – 20 Questions
Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong answer

Eligibility Criteria – RRB Group D

Age Limit:
18 to 33 years
(Age relaxation applies for SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-servicemen as per government norms)
Educational Qualification:
Must have passed 10th Standard (SSLC) or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT

Selection Process – RRB Group D

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Single-stage objective test
Covers: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, General Awareness & Current Affairs
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 100
Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark for every wrong answer

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Qualifying in nature
Different standards for Male and Female candidates:
Male: Lift and carry 35 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting it down + run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds
Female: Lift and carry 20 kg for 100 meters in 2 minutes without putting it down + run 1000 meters in 5 minutes 40 seconds

Document Verification (DV)

Original certificates (age, education, caste, etc.) will be verified

Medical Examination

Final stage to assess physical fitness for the post
Includes vision standards as prescribed by Railway Board

Note

PET is qualifying only – no marks awarded but must be cleared to move forward
Medical Fitness is mandatory to get the final appointment
Selection is purely based on merit and document verification
Candidates must ensure accurate details while applying; discrepancies may lead to disqualification
RRB exams are conducted region-wise, and candidates must apply through the appropriate RRB zone
