Exam Pattern
UPPSC BEO Exam Pattern 2024
The candidates, willing to sit for UPPSC BEO, have to first sit in the Preliminary examination. Those who will secure minimum cut-off marks in the prelims, will be qualified for the Mains examination.
UPPSC BEO Preliminary Exam Pattern
The Preliminary examination is a 300 marks examination where MCQ Based objective type questions will come. The total number of questions are 120 and the time duration is 2 hours. There will be only one paper of General Studies in the prelims exam.
The preliminary examination is qualifying in nature, so no marks will be added in future from here.
UPPSC BEO Main Exam Pattern
Those who will qualify the preliminary exam, will be considered eligible for the Mains examination. There will be two papers in the Mains Examination,
- General Studies
- General Hindi and Essays
The UPPSC BEO exam pattern for Main examination is an offline written examination. Each paper will be of 200 marks and the General Studies paper will have sections as follows.

For the other paper, i.e., General Hindi and Essay Paper, there will be two sections.
The first section will be of 100 marks of General Hindi and the second second section will be of 100 marks of Hindi Essay.
- The S.C/S.T candidates, who will not be able to secure a minimum of 35% marks in the Prelims/Mains examination, will not be counted as eligible.
- The candidates of other categories have to score a minimum of 40% in the Prelims/Mains examination, to be qualified for the post.
- The qualified candidates in the Mains examination will have to go through a medical test to proceed for the next interview round.
