SI EXAM
Written Examination (100 Marks)
The first and most important stage, consisting of objective-type
MCQs based on:
- Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs
- English Comprehension & Grammar
- Mathematics (Class 10 level)
Duration: 3 hours | Negative marking applicable
Physical Standard Test (PST)-A
qualifying stage where height and chest measurements (for males) are checked as per category norms. No marks are awarded.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 Marks
Practical fitness tests to assess endurance and physical ability:
- Male: 1600m Run + Long Jump
- Female: 800m Run + Long Jump
- Each activity carries specific marks.
NCC Bonus (Optional)
- Candidates with NCC Certificates receive additional marks:
- C Certificate – 5 marks
- B Certificate – 3 marks
- A Certificate – 1 mark
The Final Merit List is prepared based on Written Test Marks, PET Marks, and NCC bonus marks (if applicable).
CONSTABLE (AB,UB)
After qualifying the PET, candidates will be shortlisted for the Written Test in order of merit. Up to 5 times the number of category-wise vacancies will be called for the Written Exam based on PET marks (AB marks converted into percentage). If fewer candidates are available, only the available shortlisted candidates will be called. Candidates with the same PET marks as the last shortlisted candidate will also be included.
The Written Test will have 100 MCQs (OMR based), carrying 50 marks in total, with ½ mark for each correct answer and no negative marking. Questions will be of Class IX & X level.
The Written Exam will cover the following subjects:
- Elementary Arithmetic
- General English
- Logical Reasoning & Mental Ability
- Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs
The question paper will be available in Assamese, Bodo, Bengali, and English languages.
