List of famous Gurudwaras 2022: Gurudwaras are famous among Sikh People. A Gurdwara which is written in Gurmukhi: ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ meaning “Door to the Guru” is a place of assembly and worship for Sikhs. Sikhs also refer to Gurdwaras as Gurdwara Sahib. People from all faiths are welcomed in Gurdwaras. Each Gurdwara has a Darbar Sahib where the current and everlasting guru of the Sikhs, the scripture Guru Granth Sahib, is placed on the Takhat called an elevated throne) in a prominent central position.

All gurdwaras have a langar hall, where people can eat free vegetarian food served by volunteers at the Gurdwara. They may also have a medical facility room, library, nursery, classroom, meeting rooms, playground, sports ground, a gift shop, and finally a repair shop. A gurdwara can be identified from a distance by tall flagpoles bearing the Nishan Sahib, the Sikh flag.

Due to the excavation of the holy pool of nectar (Amrit-Sarovar), a raised place had appeared in front of Harmandir Sahib. As Guru Granth Sahib was installed in Harmandir Sahib in 1604, it was brought to this room for rest every night. Guru Arjan Dev used to rest under the cot meant for Guru Granth Sahib. This room now a days is, known as Kotha Sahib.

ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ: ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸੱਚਖੰਡ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ (19.1528°n 77.3189°e) ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਦੇਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 1708 ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 2008 ਵਿੱਚ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਗੱਦੀ ਦੀ 300ਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ਮਨਾਈ ਗਈ ਸੀ।

ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਦਿ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਦਾ ਸੰਸ਼ੋਧਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਕ ​​ਸੰਸਕਰਣ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਜਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੂਲ ਸੰਸਕਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇੱਥੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਕਰੀਬ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਰਹੇ।

ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਤਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਂ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੀਟ। ਇਹ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਟਿੰਡਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ 1705 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਾਮਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਸੰਸਕਰਣ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਦਮਦਮੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਬੀੜ ਜਾਂ ਦਮਦਮੀ ਬੀੜ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇੱਥੇ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਲਿਖਤ ਭਾਈ ਮਨੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨੌਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਬੀੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।

ਸ਼ਾਬਦਿਕ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ, ਦਮਦਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ। ਇਹ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਤੋਂ 28 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੱਖਣ-ਪੂਰਬ ਵੱਲ ਪਿੰਡ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਮੁਗਲ ਜ਼ੁਲਮਾਂ ​​ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਲੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਥੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਹਿੰਦ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿੰਦਾ ਇੱਟ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਨੇ ਚਮਕੌਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਜ਼ਫਰਨਾਮਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਮੁਕਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਫਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ ਕੀ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।

ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਛੇਵੇਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਲ 1609 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ (ਸਰਬਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਤਖਤ) ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ-ਸੁੱਖ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਸਨ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਅਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਮੀਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਪਹਿਨੀਆਂ ਸਨ, ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਦਸਤਾਰ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਪਹਿਨਿਆ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਸਤਰ, ਘੋੜੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਜੰਗੀ ਨਾਇਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੀਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਜ਼ (ਸਾਰੰਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਢੱਡ) ਨਾਲ ਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ।

ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪੁਜਾਰੀ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੰਗੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਦੀ ਅਰਦਾਸ (ਰਹਿਰਾਸ ਸਾਹਿਬ) ਅਤੇ ਅਰਦਾਸ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਕੁਝ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ 30 ਮਾਰਚ, 1689 ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਦਰਅਸਲ, ਇੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਖੰਡੇ ਦੀ ਪਾਹੁਲ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਛਕ ਕੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ 1699 ਦੀ ਵਿਸਾਖੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਿੱਖ। ਉਸ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ‘ਚ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਲਈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕੇਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

Takaht Shri Patna Sahib

ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ (22 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1666 – 7 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ 1708) ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਦਸਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪਟਨਾ, ਬਿਹਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 11 ਨਵੰਬਰ 1675 ਨੂੰ ਨੌਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੇਗ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਣੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ, ਯੋਧਾ, ਕਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਸੀ। ਸਿੱਖ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਦਾਨਗੀ ਦੀ ਉੱਤਮ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ, ਘੋੜਸਵਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ, ਹਥਿਆਰਬੰਦ ਲੜਾਈ, ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਦਾਰ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਮੁਗਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਠਜੋੜਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਿਵਾਲਿਕ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀਹ ਰੱਖਿਆਤਮਕ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ; ਅਤੇ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੇ 7 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 1708 ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਥਾਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਜੋਂ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਦਸਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਰੱਖੀ। ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਕਾਤਲਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੜ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜ ਤਖ਼ਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਹਨ। ਬਾਕੀ ਚਾਰ ਤਖਤ ਹਨ: ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ, ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਤਖਤ ਕੇਸਗੜ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਬਿਹਾਰ ਜਿਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਖਤ ਪਟਨਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ, ਬਠਿੰਡਾ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਖਤ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ।

This Takht was officially recognized as the fifth Takht of Sikhism on 18 November 1966. On a demand from the Sikhs, a sub-committee was appointed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Amritsar by General Meeting Resolution No: 789 on 30 July 1960. A report of the sub-committee containing 183 pages was received to declare Damdama Sahib or Guru Ki Kashi as the fifth Takht of the Sikhs.(Gurudwaras)

Takhat Shri Akal Takhat Sahib

The original structure of Akal Takht was built by Guru Hargobind ji, Bhai Gurdas ji and Baba Buddha ji, with their own hands. No other person or artist was employed to build the platform. Guru ji remarked that the seat of guru would serve the panth for eternity. Guru ji raised the height of the platform to twelve feet, defying the royal edict of Jehangir that no other person except the Emperor himself can sit on a raised platform of more than three feet. Guru Hargobind would regularly sit on the raised platform, Takht, with all marks of royalty and dispence justice for all disputes of Sikhs.(Gurudwaras)

Takht Sri Patna Sahib also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, is a Gurdwara in the neighbourhood of Patna Sahib, India. It was here that in the first week of Sept’1708, that a Bairagi Sadhu Madho Dass was baptized to Sikhism by Guru Gobind Singh ji and was given a new name – Banda Singh Bahadur. It was this great hero who in the next seven years (1709-1715) gave a sharp turn to the history of Sikhs by shaking the foundation of Mughal Empire in the North-west and paved the way for the liberation of the Punjab in 1764-65.
