About SWATI Portal:

  • Database: Comprehensive database aiding policymakers in addressing gender gap challenges.
  • Interactive Features: Designed to be interactive, facilitating easy access and contribution to the database.
  • Development: Developed, hosted, and maintained by the National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) in New Delhi.

The purpose is to maintain a healthy and effectively managed network of Ramsar Sites which:

India – UAE Relations Context:

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the UAE signifies the importance of the bilateral relationship.
  • Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the UAE from February 13-14, 2024.
  • He will inaugurate a temple built by the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha in Abu Dhabi.

  • The award highlights the scheme’s impact and effectiveness in the health sector.
  • BSKY was recognized for its innovativeness, inclusivity, transparency, and effectiveness.

Coverage and Components

  • BSKY Component-1: Provides free universal treatment, including high-end pathological tests, for all 119.8 lakh families in Odisha at government health facilities.
  • BSKY Component-2: Offers cashless treatment in empanelled hospitals for 99.3 lakh economically vulnerable families, covering around 3.56 crore members.

  • BSKY had previously won the SKOCH Gold Award in 2019, showcasing its consistent impact and excellence in the health sector.
National Women’s Day  Context:

SWAYAM Scheme Context:

  • Odisha government introduces a new scheme called Swatantra Yuva Udyami (SWAYAM) aimed at fostering self-employment among the youth in the state.
  • State Cabinet, under Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, approves the proposal for the SWAYAM scheme.

Loan Provision:

  • Interest-free bank loans up to Rs 1 lakh to be provided to unemployed youths aged 18-35.

  • Family’s annual income should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.

Target and Budget:

  • Aim to cover at least 1 lakh rural youths within two years.
  • Budget allocation of Rs 448 crore for rural areas.
  • Allocation of Rs 224 crore for interest subvention and guarantee fee.
