The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC MTS 2025 Notification for Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) & Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) posts in June 2025, which is a great opportunity for only 10th pass candidates. This year, the Commission has notified 6180 vacancies for the MTS post and 1211 vacancies for the Havaldar post, so the total vacancy is 8021. But due to technical issues with other SSC Exams 2025, the SSC MTS Exam 2025, which was scheduled in Sept/Oct 2025, has now been postponed.

SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) & Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Exam 2025 is conducted annually, pan India, for Group C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various Central Government offices. The offices include Ministries/Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc., in different States/ Union Territories and Havaldar post in Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
Candidates can choose their preferred post, such as: Havaldar, Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, Mali etc. The selection process for MTS & Havaldar posts involves a Computer-Based Test (Paper 1), Physical Test (PET/PST) (only for Havaldar post), and Document Verification. There is no interview stage for either post. Upon selection, candidates are paid a monthly salary of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 22,000/-.

The SSC MTS Exam 2025, which was scheduled between 20th September and 24th October, has been postponed because its schedule is clashing with the SSC CGL 2025 exams. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is being held from 12th to 26th September 2025, but some shifts have faced cancellations and re-exams. On the other hand, the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam was earlier set for 8th to 18th September 2025, but it has also been postponed due to the overlap with CGL. The SSC MTS Eligibility 2025 includes age limit, educational qualification, and nationality. For the Havaldar post, a Physical Test will also be conducted.
Yes, Ex-Servicemen are eligible for SSC MTS 2025. However, those already employed in a regular Group ‘C’ or ‘D’ government job through the ESM quota cannot claim the benefit again unless they had applied for the SSC MTS before joining and submitted a self-declaration. Candidates completing their service within one year from the application closing date can also apply, provided they submit valid proof.
There are two stages for the multitasking staff post and 3 stages for the Havaldar post. The exam will be conducted online in a computer-based manner. Physical Tests will only be conducted for the Havaldar post only. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in the computer-based test.
