SSC MTS 2025 Exam Date For 8021 Vacancy, Exam Schedule Updates

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC MTS 2025 Notification for Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) & Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) posts in June 2025, which is a great opportunity for only 10th pass candidates. This year, the Commission has notified 6180 vacancies for the MTS post and 1211 vacancies for the Havaldar post, so the total vacancy is 8021. But due to technical issues with other SSC Exams 2025, the SSC MTS Exam 2025, which was scheduled in Sept/Oct 2025, has now been postponed.

About SSC MTS 2025

SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) & Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Exam 2025 is conducted annually, pan India, for Group C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various Central Government offices. The offices include Ministries/Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc., in different States/ Union Territories and Havaldar post in Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.

Candidates can choose their preferred post, such as: Havaldar, Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, Mali etc. The selection process for MTS & Havaldar posts involves a Computer-Based Test (Paper 1), Physical Test (PET/PST) (only for Havaldar post), and Document Verification. There is no interview stage for either post. Upon selection, candidates are paid a monthly salary of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 22,000/-.

SSC MTS Exam Date 2025

The SSC MTS Exam 2025, which was scheduled between 20th September and 24th October, has been postponed because its schedule is clashing with the SSC CGL 2025 exams. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is being held from 12th to 26th September 2025, but some shifts have faced cancellations and re-exams. On the other hand, the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam was earlier set for 8th to 18th September 2025, but it has also been postponed due to the overlap with CGL. The new dates for CHSL will be announced soon and only after that MTS Exam dates will be out. But don't worry, we will provide updates related to the announcement here.

SSC MTS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The SSC MTS Eligibility 2025 includes age limit, educational qualification, and nationality. For the Havaldar post, a Physical Test will also be conducted.

Nationality

• An Indian citizen, or
• A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
• A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, or East African countries, intending to settle permanently.

Educational Qualification (As on 1/8/2025)

• Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) or its equivalent from a recognized board or institution by the closing date of application.

Age Limit (As on 1/8/2025)

• 18-25 years: For Multitasking Staff (Non-Technical)
• 18-27 years: Havaldar in CBIC and CBN (D/O Revenue), and few posts of MTS.
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per government rules for reserved categories:
  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwD: 10 years (general), 13 years (OBC), 15 years (SC/ST)

Are ex-servicemen Eligible for SSC MTS 2025?

Yes, Ex-Servicemen are eligible for SSC MTS 2025. However, those already employed in a regular Group ‘C’ or ‘D’ government job through the ESM quota cannot claim the benefit again unless they had applied for the SSC MTS before joining and submitted a self-declaration. Candidates completing their service within one year from the application closing date can also apply, provided they submit valid proof.

SSC MTS 2025 Selection Process

There are two stages for the multitasking staff post and 3 stages for the Havaldar post. The exam will be conducted online in a computer-based manner. Physical Tests will only be conducted for the Havaldar post only. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in the computer-based test.

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Pattern

• The total marks for the SSC MTS Paper-I exam are 270, as per the latest pattern.
• The exam will be objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).
• Language options:
  • Session I and the General Awareness section of Session II will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.
• Negative marking:
  • Session I: No negative marking.
  • Session II: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
• Extra time for special candidates:
  • Visually handicapped and cerebral palsy candidates will get 45 minutes per session.

The SSC MTS 2025 application is now closed on the official SSC website. Candidates must complete the registration process online, providing accurate personal, academic, and contact details. Application fees can be paid through online modes or a challan. Ensure all required documents, such as photographs and signatures, are uploaded correctly.

The fee can be paid online only using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay).

• The application fee is Rs. 100 for General/OBC/EWS candidates.
• No fee is required for women candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities), and Ex-servicemen .
• The last date to pay the fee online is 25th July 2025, till 11:00 PM.

SSC MTS Salary 2025

The SSC MTS Salary falls under Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200–20200) with a Grade Pay of Rs. 1800, which corresponds to Level-1 in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. The in-hand salary for SSC MTS employees ranges between Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 22,000 per month, depending on the location and applicable allowances. This salary structure includes benefits like House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), and other government perks, making it a stable and attractive entry-level job in the central government sector.
