AFCAT 2 2024 Exam Date: Overview

AFCAT 2 2024 Exam Schedule
The Written Examination of AFCAT 2 2024 will be conducted on three days. There will be two shifts in one day. The whole written examination will be completed in total 6 shifts. The Exam date for AFCAT 2 2024 will be 9th, 10th, 11th of August 2024 and the AFCAT 2 Admit Card 2024 will be released soon on the official website before the exam date. The timings for the first shift exam is from 10 Am to 12 Am and the second shift Exam is 3 Pm to 5 Pm.

AFCAT Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates should follow all the guidelines established by the IAF. Candidates must arrive at the exam centre on time. For the first Shift, A candidate should arrive on the center no later than 08:00 hrs for shift-I and 13:00 hrs for the shift-II, as entry will not be allowed once the pre-exam verification begins.
- Required items include:
- Admit Card for AFCAT 02/2024.
- Original Aadhaar Card ( Most important and Compulsory)
- Valid photo ID like PAN Card or Passport, matching the details in the Matriculation Certificate, two passport-sized photographs matching the application photo (to be pasted on the admit card and attendance sheet), and a
- Blue or black ballpoint pen for signing and rough work.
AFCAT 2 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a graduate degree in any field to be eligible for the AFCAT Examination. However, the Indian Air Force has released branch-wise educational qualifications for graduate candidates.

Age Limit
To join the Indian Air Force, it is necessary that candidate met the established age standard for AFCAT exam. The Minimum age limit for both Men and Women in AFCAT is 20 Year old and Maximum age is 26 years old.
For Flying Branch
- Both Men and Women candidates aged between 20 to 24 are eligible for flying branch.
- Maximum age limit for candidates holding a CPL (Commercial Pilot License) is 26 years old.
For Ground Duty( Technical / Non- Technical) branches
- Both Men and Women candidates aged between 20 to 26 years can apply for Ground duty Technical and Ground Duty Non Technical Branches.

AFCAT 2 2024 Application Fee
The application fees for AFCAT Examination which is mentioned in the AFCAT 2 2024 notification is Rs. 550/- plus GST, which is Non-refundable. This fee does not apply to NCC special entry candidates. Females are not exempted to pay application fee.

Steps To Apply For AFCAT 2 2024 Application
- Visit the official website or use the provided link.
- On the new page, click “New User Register” if you are registering for the first time.
- Enter your mobile number and email address to register.
- An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email. Enter the OTP and click “Submit.” You will receive your Login ID and Password via SMS and email.
The second step is the login process:
- Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
- Select the post you are applying for.
- Fill in the required details, including educational qualifications.
- Pay the examination fee online using a credit/debit card or internet banking.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature. Upload all required certificates.
- Submit the application.
- Print the acknowledgment for your records.
AFCAT 2 Correction Window 2024
The Correction window for AFCAT 2 2024 is now opened by the Indian Air Force from 5th July 2024 to 8th July 2024. Candidates are given opportunity to amend or edit certain fields of your application form, if recquired. Candidates can edit in the following fields after logging in with all their credentials on the AFCAT 2 2024 Registration process portal:-
- Candidate’s name (Only correction of spellings)
- Father’s name
- Mother’s name
- Photograph of the candidate
- Live camera photo
- Signature
- Thumb impression
Candidates should note that no request for any change would be entertained beyond the given window. Any Request forwarded through E-mail for edit/ amend/ update details will not be entertained/ processed after closing of the Correction Window. The facility is extended only to the candidates who have already registered on the portal and have paid fees online on or before 28th Jun2024.

Live Photo Correction Window
Candidates who has already filled the application form should check on the live photo uploaded by the candidates. Candidates are advised to check the correctness of the uploaded live camera image in case of eyes closed, blurry image or any issue with the camera image and re-upload if it is not correct.

AFCAT 2024 Syllabus
The Air Force Common Admission Test has a total 100 number of questions asked in the online test. A candidate should be aware of the AFCAT syllabus before applying for the exam form. There are a total of 4 Sections in the AFCAT Exam.
- English section- Comprehension, cloze test, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, and error spotting.
- General Knowledge– Indian History, Polity, Economics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Current Affairs.
- Reasoning section – Series, Venn diagrams, syllogism, blood relations, non-verbal and verbal reasoning, and military aptitude.
- Quantitative Aptitude section – Number system, HCF and LCM, time, distance and speed, time and work, ratio and proportion, percentage, average, simple interest and compound interest, and pipes and cistern.

AFCAT 2024 Selection Process
The Indian Air Force will send call letters to all candidates who clear the AFCAT 2 2024 exam which is the first step of the AFCAT selection process, inviting them to appear for the second stage of selection known as AFSB Testing. The AFSB Testing is divided into two stages.
AFSB Interview Day 1
It includes the Officer Intelligence Rating Test and the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT). This stage acts as a screening test, and candidates who do not clear it will not be allowed to proceed to Stage 2.
AFSB Interview Day 2-
It is more comprehensive and involves several tests.
- After clearing Stage 1, candidates proceed to Psychological Tests, where psychologists administer written assessments to evaluate different psychological traits.
- Following that, candidates undergo Group Tests, which include both mental and physical tasks to assess them on various criteria.
- The AFSB Interview is then conducted by an interviewing officer to determine the candidate’s suitability for an Air Force career. Those applying for the Flying Branch must also take the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test.
Medical Test
Once candidates pass the selection stages, they go to a medical exam at either the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru or the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME). After that, a final list is made based on how well they did in the written exam and AFSB interviews. Those who are on this list will get joining letters for their chosen training academies. This is the beginning of their journey in the Indian Air Force.

As per the latest notification, the basic pay of a Flying Officer is Rs. 56,100. Below is the AFCAT revised salary structure according to the 7th Pay Commission.
