1.Foxconn signs deal with Tamil Nadu to build plant in Kancheepuram:

• Foxconn Technology Group, a major supplier to Apple Inc., pledged to invest ₹1,600 crore in setting up a manufacturing facility in Kancheepuram district, Tamil Nadu, through its subsidiary Foxconn Industrial Internet(Fii).
• The commitment was made during a signing ceremony attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Foxconn Chairman Young Liu.
• The investment marks a significant step towards strengthening Foxconn’s presence in India and bolstering the state’s manufacturing sector.

2.Tamilians for TamilNadu (T4T) Initiative launched to help 1,000 govt. schoolchildren:

• A new initiative called “Tamilians for TamilNadu (T4T)” has been introduced with the aim of helping 1,000 government school children develop problem-solving skills.
• The students selected for the program will be provided with scholarships, granting them access to specially curated projects in STEM and humanities. These projects are designed to nurture their abilities to address real-world challenges effectively.
• Distinguished professors from around the world will guide the students in Tamil through the platform, facilitating their learning and development.
• As a result of their participation in the program, the students will have the opportunity to secure internship placements, offering them practical exposure and further enhancing their problem-solving capabilities. 
• The initiative has been introduced by Kruu, a project-based learning organization founded by renowned pianist, educator, and founder Anil Srinivasan.

3.303 Smart Classrooms Inaugurated in Tamil Nadu:

• Inauguration of 303 Smart Classrooms in Radhapuram, Tamil Nadu, by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, costing *6.86 crore.
• Radhapuram becomes the first legislative constituency with Smart Classrooms in all government and government-aided schools.
• Funding from Chief Minister’s Constituency Development Fund, Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) CSR Fund, and Larsen and Toubro.
• Smart Classrooms equipped with 3D-format content and modern gadgets for enhanced learning experiences, including virtual teacher-student interactions and spoken English classes.

4.Fifth edition of the World Coffee Conference 2023:

• Bengaluru to host the fifth edition of the World Coffee Conference (WCC 2023) from September 25 to 28.
• WCC is organized by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) to promote the economic importance of coffee globally.
• India and Asia hosting the event for the first time, signifying the growing dominance of Indian coffees in the global markets.
• The event is jointly organized by the Coffee Board, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and ICO, expected to boost India’s access and acceptance in global coffee markets.

5.Prime Ministers’ Awas Yojana (PMAY-U):

• A total of 75.51 lakh houses have been completed under the Prime Ministers’ Awas Yojana (PMAY-U), with 71.39 lakh houses already occupied.
• Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of completed houses at 12,87,307.
• The Centre has provided 1.48 lakh crore assistance to State governments for the implementation of PMAY-U.
