Selection Process

• Written Examination (Paper 1 and/or Paper 2)
• Qualifying Marks:
  OC / General – 60% (90 marks)
  BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), PwD – 55% (82 marks)
  ST – 40% (60 marks, one-time concession in 2025)
• Pass Certificate valid for Lifetime
• Clearing TNTET is eligibility only, separate recruitment exam required for appointment

Eligibility

Paper 1 – Classes I–V

• Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed.
• OR Higher Secondary (45% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed. (NCTE norms)
• OR Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 4-year B.El.Ed.
• OR Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year Diploma in Special Education
• Final-year candidates eligible

Paper 2 – Classes VI–VIII

• Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed.
• OR Graduation (50% marks) + B.Ed.
• OR Graduation (45% marks) + B.Ed. (NCTE norms)
• OR Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 4-year B.El.Ed. / B.A.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed.
• OR Graduation (50% marks) + B.Ed. (Special Education)
• Final-year candidates eligible

Age Limit

• Minimum: 18 years (as on 01.07.2025)
• Maximum: No upper age limit
