Two Papers:

Paper 1 – Classes I to V (Primary Teacher)

• Mode: Offline – OMR based
• Questions: 150 MCQs per paper
• Marks: 150 marks per paper
• Duration: 3 hours per paper
• Medium: Tamil / English (for certain sections)

Exam Dates (Tentative):

Paper 1 – 01 Nov 2025
Paper 2 – 02 Nov 2025

Selection Process :

Written Examination (Paper 1 and/or Paper 2)

Qualifying Marks:

• OC / General – 60% (90 marks)
• BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), PwD – 55% (82 marks)
• ST – 40% (60 marks, one-time concession in 2025)
• Pass Certificate valid for Lifetime
• Clearing TNTET is eligibility only, separate recruitment exam required for appointment
   

Eligibility

Paper 1 – Classes I–V

• Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed.
• OR Higher Secondary (45% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed. (NCTE norms)
• OR Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 4-year B.El.Ed.
• OR Higher Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year Diploma in Special Education
• Final-year candidates eligible
   

Age Limit :

• Minimum: 18 years (as on 01.07.2025)
• Maximum: No upper age limit
