The SSC GD 2026 Notification for the recruitment of eligible candidates for 25487 General Duty Constable (Male & Female) has been released on 1st December 2025 at the SSC official website.
Lakhs of candidates appeared for the SSC GD Exam every year to fulfil their dream of joining the various paramilitary forces as a Constable. The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC GD Constable exam every year to recruit candidates for the posts of Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman (General Duty) in the following forces:

Exam Pattern
SSC GD Constable Tier 1 exam will be conducted online mode, multiple-choice-based exam. The CBT test consists of 4 sections with 80 questions in total for a time duration of 60 minutes. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional Languages viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Selection Process
To get qualified and shortlisted for the vacancies, candidates have to go through each stage of the selection process as discussed below.
- Written examination (Computer Based): There will be 80 Multiple Choice Questions with 2 marks each and a negative marking of 0.25 marks, The duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour) with no sectional timing.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST).
- Medical Test- The last stage of the selection process which is mandatory to check whether the selected candidates are medically fit or not. After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.
