What Is The Exam Pattern For SSC Examinations?
For SSC CGL
The SSC CGL examinations are conducted in the following manner -
There is a computer-based examination for Tier 1. After qualifying which, there is a computer-based examination for Tier 2. There is an offline examination for tier 3, which is based on a descriptive paper.
Tier 4 of the examination tests your computer skills and verifies your documents.
In Tier 1, candidates are required to complete the examination within 60 minutes. However, candidates with VH/OH i. e, candidates with cerebral palsy or any kind of special disability pertaining to writing are offered 80 minutes to complete the examination.
In Tier 1, candidates are required to complete each paper within 120 minutes. However, candidates with VH/OH i. e, candidates with cerebral palsy or any kind of special disability pertaining to writing are offered 160 minutes to complete each paper.

Tier 3 of this examination requires the candidate to write a descriptive paper which is in an offline mode. The candidate can write an essay, an application or anything of the sort that is mentioned in the examination.

The time given for each paper is 2 hours.
For SSC MTS
The first paper tests the candidate's General Awareness, General Reasoning and Intelligence, English and Numerical Proficiency. You can acquire a total of 100 marks in this paper.
The paper is divided into various sections of 25 marks each for each of the 25 questions. Negative marking of 0.25 is allotted to each wrong answer. To be qualified for the next round, candidates must acquire the fixed minimum marks.
The second paper is descriptive in nature and has 50 marks in all. The candidates are required to write an essay or a letter. This is done to judge their proficiency in the English language.
