Exam Overview – IB MTS 2025
Intelligence Bureau conducts this exam for Multi-Tasking Staff (General) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The recruitment process usually consists of Tier-I Objective Test and Tier-II Qualifying Test.

Educational Qualification

• Candidate must have Matriculation / 10th Pass from a recognized board.
• Domicile certificate of the State/UT (as applicable) should be available.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 25 Years (as on the closing date of application)
• Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen as per Government rules.

Selection Process

Tier-I: Objective Test (Online / OMR Based)

• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 1 Hour
• Type: MCQs
• Negative Marking applicable

Tier-II: Descriptive / Qualifying Test

• Nature: Qualifying Only
• Usually includes Descriptive English / Short Essays / Comprehension / Translation (based on region)
• Marks of Tier-II are not counted for final merit.

Final Selection

• Based on Tier-I Marks
• Subject to clearance of Tier-II + Document Verification + Medical Standards.
