The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts the RPSC RAS exam for filling up Group A and Group B vacancies in the state administrative machinery. The RAS Exam is officially referred to as Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Examination. It is a highly competitive exam, and the right preparation strategy can only be formed after understanding the RAS Exam Pattern. Pattern Of RPSC RAS Exam 2023
In the new exam pattern of RPSC RAS Exam, the Maths based questions have been removed from RAS Mains. This change was introduced in 2018, and the upcoming RAS Mains will be held as per the new pattern. The first stage of the RPSC RAS exam 2023 is the Prelims. The RAS Pre Exam 2023 will be a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Main stage of the exam. The RPSC RAS Prelims 2023 will consist of only one paper.

Candidates will reach the Interview stage if they score above the cutoff in RPSC RAS Mains 2023. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidate’s score in Mains and Interview. For each stage, a candidate is required to have the hall ticket or e-summon. The RPSC RAS Interview 2023 will be of 100 marks and aims to test the candidate’s attitude, personality and assess his/her overall suitability for a career in administration.
RPSC RAS Exam 2023 Eligibility
The RPSC conducts the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Exam to fill Group A and Group B vacancies. The above exam is also referred to as RAS/RTS exam. RAS stands for the Rajasthan Administrative Service while RTS is Rajasthan Taxation Service. Hence, the following eligibility details are the same for about 20 state services and 15 subordinate services, recruitment for which is done through the RAS/RTS exam. RPSC RAS Age Limit 2023
For RAS Exam 2023, the age limit will be:
- Minimum Age – 21 years (as on 01/01/2023)
- Maximum Age – 40 years (as on 01/01/2023)
For non-gazetted employees, the age limit is:
- Minimum Age – 25 years (as on 01/01/2023)
- Maximum Age – 45 years (as on 01/01/2023)
The Maximum age limit means the candidate must not have attained that age on the prescribed date.
As per the RPSC recruitment rules, there are provisions of age relaxation for different categories.

Important:
- The provision of upper age limit relaxation is non-cumulative in nature. Candidates cannot claim age relaxation in more than one category.
- There is no mention of a restriction on the number of attempts for RAS Exam in the eligibility details. Candidates should meet the age criteria and post specific eligibility (if any).
- There can be post-specific physical fitness requirements.
- Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
- Candidates who don’t have a Rajasthan domicile will be treated as a General Category.
RPSC 2023 Educational Qualification
The candidate must hold a graduate degree (any stream) from:
- University incorporated by an Act of the Central Legislature or
- University incorporated by an Act of the State Legislature or
- Other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as one under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 or
- Possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government in consultation with the RPSC
Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply for the RPSC RAS Prelims Exam 2023, but they need to submit proof of passing before the Mains stage.

- Click, ‘Apply Online’ link
- Log in at ‘SSO Portal’
- Select, ‘Recruitment Portal’
- Register using ‘One Time Registration (OTR)’
- Fill the Application Form and make the payment using Recruitment Portal services
- Application ID will be generated

- Payment once successful, will not be refunded
