Recently, the G-20 Education Working Group (EdWG) meeting 2023 was concluded in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The India Chair of EdWG and Secretary Higher Education Shri. Sanjay Murthy said that collaboration with Universities across the globe would be the major outcome of the deliberations at the Chennai Meet.

The G-20 Education Working Group meet also discussed in a detailed manner viz areas for an inclusive, equitable, relevant and quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all. The two day 1st G20 Education Working Group was attended by 80 delegates from 30 countries and international organizations from member nations and special invitees.
- There would be 3 supplementary meetings of the educational group before the wide consensus will be arrived in the last meeting scheduled to be held in June this year.
- IIT, Madras also hosted the seminar of Digital Technology as part of the G20 Education Working Group Meeting.
- The outcome of the G-20 Education Working Group meeting will be documented which will be taken forward in the next meeting to be held from 15 to 17 March in Amristar in Punjab.
- 56 plus G20 meetings are being in various parts of the country which will create a lot of opportunities in development in education and employment.

- G20 India Presidency: India assumed, for the first time, the Group of 20 (G20) year-long presidency from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.
- India’s G20 Presidency will culminate with the G20 Summit in India in 2023 (G20 2023 Summit).
- G20 Presidency 2023: India inherited the G20 Presidency for the year 2023 from Indonesia which was the previous G20 Chair.
- Significance: The G20 Presidency offers a unique opportunity to India to contribute to the global agenda on pressing issues of international importance.
- During its G20 presidency, India will hold about 200 meetings in 32 different sectors in multiple locations across the country.
