Ayush for Global Health in News
- Ministry of Ayush has geared up to showcase its initiatives and various achievements at 41st India International Trade Fair through its pavilion at Pragati, Maidan, New Delhi from 14th to 27th November 2022.
- Ministry will be highlighting its initiatives around the theme of “Ayush for Global Health’.
Ayush at 41st India International Trade Fair
- Various Ayush Institutes and research bodies of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homeopathy streams will set up their stalls.
- This aims to make people aware on how they can maintain good health by including Ayush in their lifestyle through daily routine, good dietary habits available under the Ayush system.
- The highlight of this year’s Ayush pavilion is interesting interactive activities, where visitors will get to know about Ayush benefits through activities like “Create Your Own” Ayush items like soap, gel, cream, goli, etc., Identification and matching of spices.
- The visitors will be given free saplings of medicinal plants having multiple health benefits. Ayush quiz winners will get attractive prizes.
- Free OPD facility for visitors, where Ayush practitioners/Vaidya of Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa, Yoga & Naturopathy will give health advice.
- Yoga Fusion program, live Yoga demonstration, Yoga Break at Workplace and Yoga therapy will be performed by experts of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), New Delhi.
- Ministry of Ayush has been promoting entrepreneurship in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy sector through India’s agile startup ecosystem.
- More than 14 startups in different categories will showcase the growing strength of Ayush.
- Interesting Ayush quiz Kiosks are also being set up in the Ayush pavilion wherein the winners will get attractive prizes.

- 3rd Ministerial Conference on Countering Financing of Terrorism – No Money for Terror is going to be held in New Delhi on November 18 and 19, 2022.
Conference on Countering Financing of Terrorism
- Participation: The Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah will be participating in the conference on Countering Financing of Terrorism 2022.
- The Conference intends to bring together representatives of 75 countries and international bodies for extended deliberations over two days.
- Host Country: Conference on Countering Financing of Terrorism 2022 is being hosted by India.
- Key Objectives: The Conference aims to progress the discussions on combating terrorist financing held by the international community in the previous two Conferences in Paris (2018) and Melbourne (2019).
- It also intends to include discussions on technical, legal, regulatory and cooperation aspects of all facets of terrorism financing.
- It attempts to also set the pace for other high level official and political deliberations, focused on countering terrorist financing.
- Significance: The hosting of this conference shows the importance being given by India to the issue of international terrorism as well as its zero tolerance policy against this menace and having discussions on this issue in the international community.
- India will convey it’s determination in its fight against terrorism as well as its support systems for achieving success against it.
19th ASEAN-India Summit

- The Vice President, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar led the Indian delegation, including the External Affairs Minister, Dr S. Jaishankar, at the 19th ASEAN-India Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
ASEAN-India Summit 2022 Joint Statement
- At the 19th ASEAN-India summit, ASEAN and India adopted a joint statement announcing the elevation of the existing Strategic Partnership to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
- Both sides reaffirmed the importance of maintaining and promoting peace, stability, maritime safety and security, freedom of navigation and overflight in the Indo-Pacific region.
- The Joint Statement also reiterated the commitment to enhance India-ASEAN cooperation in various areas such as-
- Maritime activities,
- Counter-terrorism,
- Transnational crimes,
- Cyber security,
- Digital economy,
- Regional connectivity,
- Smart agriculture,
- Environment,
- Science & technology,
- Tourism, among other areas.
- The Joint Statement also proposes expediting the review of ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) to make it more user-friendly, simple, and trade-facilitative.
Indo-French Air Exercise GARUDA-VII

- Recently, the seventh edition of the bilateral air exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the French Air and Space Force (FASF), ‘Exercise Garuda-VII’ concluded at Air Force Station, Jodhpur.
What is Ex Garuda VII?
- About: Ex Garuda is a joint bi-lateral military exercise conducted between Indian Air Force (IAF) and French Air and Space Force (FASF).
- Previous Garuda Exercise (Ex Garuda VI) was held in 2019 in France.
- Venue: Ex Garuda takes place alternatively in France and India. Ex Garuda VII is being Conducted in India.
- Objective: Objectives for the Garuda exercise were to foster closer relationship between India and France so as to promote interoperability through exchange of knowledge and experience.
- The exercise Garuda ensured that the participating forces were exposed to operational environment in an international scenario.
Importance of Ex Garuda VII
- Exercise Garuda-VII provided the two Air Forces with the opportunity for professional interaction and sharing of operational knowledge and experience.
- With meticulous planning and execution of various phases of the exercise, personnel of the IAF and the FASF were exposed to realistic air combat simulations and the associated Combat Support Operations.
- This enabled the participating contingents to engage in wide ranging interactions, providing valuable insight into each other’s best practices.
- The exercise also provided a platform for cultural exchange between the Air Force personnel of both the countries.
Ex Garuda VII Participation
- Ex Garuda VII is also the first occasion for the LCA Tejas and the recently inducted LCH Prachand to participate in any international exercise.
- The Garuda VII exercise includes four FASF Rafale fighters and one A-330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft.
- Apart from the LCA and LCH, the IAF contingent consists of Su-30 MKI, Rafale and Jaguar fighter aircraft, as well as Mi-17 helicopters.
- The IAF contingent also includes Combat Enabling Assets like Flight Refuelling Aircraft, AWACS, AEW&C and Garud Special Forces.
