UGC Reopens National Fellowship For Persons With Disabilities (NFPwD) for 2018-19, 2019-20

University Grants Commission (UGC) on behalf of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has released notification regarding the reopened application form of National Fellowship For Persons With Disabilities (NFPwD) for the selections years 2018-19 and 2019-20. The last date of receiving the application form of NFPwD is 19th June 2020. NFPwD fellowship is for those students with disabilities who are covered under ‘The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 for pursuing research leading to award pf M.Phil/Ph.D.

All the candidates can apply through online on the scholarship portal of UGC i.e. https://www.ugc.ac.in/ugc_schemes/. The fellowship is provided for a maximum period of five years.

NFPwD Fellowship Reopened Notice

Total Seats : 200

NFPwD fellowship is provided to 200 candidates each year with and with reservation of 15% for Scheduled
Castes and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes.

Eligibility Criteria:

A student with disabilities who has been admitted to M.Phil/Ph.D degree and pursuing research through regular and full time mode in a University or academic institution
by completing the required formalities for admission in that University or academic institution is eligible for the fellowship.

Year wise Eligible candidate for Fellowship :

Selection Year 2018-19: 01.04.2018 or actual date of admission/registration of candidate
for M.Phil./Ph.D.
Selection Year 2019-20: 01.04.2019 or actual date of admission/registration of candidate
for M.Phil./Ph.D

Selection Process:

On Merit basis
Merit list based on Post Graduation (PG)examination marks
After all the applications will be verified.
Provisional list will be issued by UGC
The candidates who join the fellowship will not get any other monetary benefit from Central or State Government or other bodies like
UGC.

Duration of Fellowship :

Amount of NFPwD Fellowship:
